Period Provisions
What is Period Poverty? The inability to purchase adequate menstrual products.

Did you know, 1 in 5 girls in Kentucky lives below the Federal Poverty Line. That means their families have to decide what to do with their finances (i.e., purchase food, medication, pay bills, etc.).

Being able to have adequate toiletries such as menstrual pads or tampons helps to eliminate missed school days that can impact overall education and opportunities for success.

Additionally, having appropriate supplies can reduce health risks by having sanitary items and being able to change products often.

In 2024, five schools in Richmond, Kentucky were able to receive close to 1,000 pads each.

The 2025 goal is to raise $15,000 to provide menstrual products to schools in Kentucky. To date, 24 schools located in Madison, Estill, Garrard, Breathitt Lee, Jackson and Rockcastle counties have received pads and tampons thanks to generous donations.

We can all work together to make a difference in the lives of middle and high school girls.

Periods happen and each donation will make a difference.

If you are a Kentucky School Administrator/Nurse and would like to request a donation for menstrual products for the school you work at, please fill out this form. Applications will be reviewed and items distributed based on the available funding/inventory from donations.
